A few pics of a couple of puppies from the local family of Rice Field Dogs.
They are part of a family of 5 adults and 4 puppies. The spend most of the time hanging out in the dry patches of land between rice fields and around lunch/dinner time they head to the nearby temple where people leave food for them.
All these dogs receive plenty of food, they’re basically considered “everyone’s dogs. They’re not 100% comfortable about people approaching them, but I guess that’s the result when you spend your life living on a rice field?
They’re always well fed. One of their brother has the same cream-like color of Labradors and he’s actually a bit fat. Even though they’re in overall good shape, it always saddens me a bit to see homeless puppies.
Stray dogs in taiwan are extremely common. Very few people neuter their dogs, especially in the countryside. The result is that it’s impossible to travel more than 10 minutes without seeing some dogs roaming around looking for food.
