The Royal Hotel in Jiaoxi (also called Laoye) is the most expensive in the Yilan region. Not only is it located in the most touristic area of this county, it’s also built along the line of natural hotsprings and a couple of minutes away from the most popular hiking trail and three-waterfalls system of Wufenqi.
As many hotels in Taiwan, it’s also possible to simply attend their restaurant and enjoy their buffet. There are all kinds of food available, including some European dishes. Needless to say, the best part of the lunch was the Taiwanese food.
“Hey, where are the food pictures?”. Well, I’m not really into that kind of photography, I’m much more attracted to interiors and architecture.
Expecting good weather in Yilan in January is a bit too hopeful, and infact I’ve not been able to take any pictures of the exteriors. In Spring I’ll get back there, it definitely deserves some extra time.
The Chinese new year holiday has just begin, we’;re entering the Year of the Double Headed Stellar Dragon. No, actually it’s the Chicken Year…but it doesn’t sound as cool. Feelsbadman.
Next week I’ll have a new Phlog available, recording my hiking trip to a local mountain. If I survive, of course.
